Treating Wry Neck In Crested Duckling *EDITED TITLE*

They do like to splash don't they, Such great news about Qwackers too, when will you have their house and run ready for them?
The run is almost ready, just need to finish the wire and add the sand. The house is supposed to be delivered this Wednesday. I am hoping to have it ready by Saturday and start transitioning them Sunday. Their new home will not be at my house, it's at my business. I will have to see how they do and check the weather often, I may bring them home in the evenings, I'm not sure. Indie and Raj are almost completely feathered, Qwackers is not, so I'm sure that will play a role on when they go out.

Also, the last several days Qwackers has NOT wanted to take her meds. I have resorted to other tactics. Her favorite treat is tomatoes, so I've been soaking a few tiny pieces of bread with the meds and tossing it with a few pieces of chopped tomato. Works like a charm!

They are like kids when it comes to taking their meds. lol I use small pieces of bread when I have to medicate too, it's easy to fool them that way. Look forward to seeing their house and run when ya'll get through with it I hope you'll post pics.

Started weaning off of the meds tonight. I'll be cutting from medicating twice a day to just once a day for 5 days, then every other day for another week. I ordered nutri - drench which should be here Thursday. I'll be adding it to their water until they're 10 weeks old. That has all of the vitamins she needs.

I am so scared, but I have to get her off of the prednisolone before it starts having negative effects. So guys say a prayer, send positive vibes and think happy thoughts!

Cresteds actually have a birth defect where their skull doesn't fully form, especially near the top where the crest is. So, they are prone to more neurological problems. Ducklings born to a crested and non-crested parent have a 50 % chance of hatching healthy. 25% will hatch with problems, like Qwackers, and the other 25% will die in the shell. If two cresteds breed, then the mortality is much higher and there is a 3 in 4 chance of getting a dead or disabled duckling. So, cresteds, overall, are prone to these kinds of problems.

I'm thinking that other parts normally inside a duckling's skull were swelling up growing faster than Qwacker's skull to could handle because of the deformity. I'm not a vet, so I don't know if this was the case.

all of the other ducklings that were shipped with Qwackers, have died. I believe one died during shipment (but I could be remembering it wrong.) Even with the crested gene, something seems off about the whole situation.
