Treating Wry Neck In Crested Duckling *EDITED TITLE*

How are you going to work it out with Qwackers and Raj and Indie? being at their new place?
Indie and Raj will go outside in their new place this weekend and stay as long as they seems to adapt ok. Both of them have all of their feathers. I have a feeling they're going to love the new place, all the room, fresh air and sunshine. I have two duck areas so they'll be able to see each other, but Indie will not be able to pick on Qwackers. Qwackers will go for the day if the weather is nice (she still hasn't completely feathered out yet) then come home with me. I'll take her each day that we have good weather and bring her home until she is completely healed and adjusted to being outside. If she doesn't adjust she can go to work with me each day to hang out in her house outside and come home with me in the evenings.

Ooo, I hope Qwakers is OK. How did that happen?
While I was at work Saturday Indie pulled out almost all of Qwackers crest feathers on her head. It looked awful, and scared the heck out of me. It was so red my first thought was the top of her head had popped open because of brain swelling. Indie was laying in the brooder with white feathers stuck to his bill, kind of like when Sylvester ate Tweety bird on Looney Toons.

Qwackers is doing fine now, it never seemed to bother her at all. I have them separated, Qwacks in the house, Indie and Raj in the brooder in the garage. I worked on my coop and run Sunday making a separate space for Qwacks so she doesn't get picked on.

Sounds like a really nice place for them and a good plan. Your a really good duck mom.

Qwackers started something new this evening. While she was relaxing in my lap she started making a hissing sound anytime my dog got close. My dog, Adele, has been keeping a close eye on Qwackers since the day I brought her home. I have never let Adele do anything other than sniff her, but she always watches her very closely. She gets nervous and paces whenever Qwackers sounds like she is upset.
When Adele came over to check her out tonight Qwackers stood up in my lap and hissed, I had to shoo her away. Adele's feelings were hurt, but I was happy to see some "normal" duck behavior, LOL!
