Treating Wry Neck In Crested Duckling *EDITED TITLE*

Qwackers sounds very much like a drake. It's good you got 3 girls for him. I also see flirting behavior. I'm also seeing a little curl in his tail
You know today I thought the same thing, but I have been back and forth so many times one minute girl, then the next maybe a boy. Prior to Qwackers I have zero experience with raising ducks, so I never really knew what they sounded like. When I hear them all together it is obvious how different they sound. Just so I know...how is he "acting" like a boy. I just figured Qwackers was being bossy to the new girls;-)

I have been out of town a lot lately, sorry no updates. Playing catch-up at work is KILLING me!
They're all getting along wonderfully. Qwackers, who I now believe is a boy, loves having the 3 girls around. He does not have any curly tail feathers, but has a VERY different voice than the others. There are no missing crest feathers and a lot less wing and tail feathers floating around loose these days so it doesn't appear that there is any picking going on.

Ok, it is settled...It took 5 months and 5 days from hatch for the curly tail feather to finally appear, so Qwackers is officially a boy. He is still doing great, and chasing his 3 girlfriends around like a hormonal teenage boy;-) I have tried to get pictures but they refuse to stay still long enough. I have plans to do some construction on their new house this weekend, so maybe I'll get pics and a video then.

I am so glad that I made the effort to nurse him back to health. I was worried that he would never have a normal duck life, but that is not the case. He has caught up developmentally and is a happy member of my flock. He is not as cuddly as I hoped he would be, you'd think all of the handling would have helped, but he wants nothing to do with being touched. He is happy just to swipe the occasional treat from my hand then run away:)

So good to hear form you jenniemig, and now we know Qwackers is a boy and you still love him, that's not always the case with drakes. I am very thankful you worked so hard getting him back to health too I'm sure as you look at him daily you see what a difference it has made in his life and yours. look forward to pics.

Managed to get a couple of pics this morning, his second curly feather showed up today. As I was walking up all 3 girls were on top of their house and Qwackers was running around raising cain as if to say "get down from there!". The girls can fly but Qwackers can't, I guess they get up there when they've had enough of him. They're so funny

Oh my gosh he looks so good and so handsome. the girls are pretty too. Well at least they can have some time off since he can't get to them when they are up there. Looks like he's smiling.
