One of our new chicks has been pecked. Do I need to treat the bare spots?

That's not bad. The fluff will grow back. Bald spots can appear if they rub against stuff, or other chicks, or if they over groom.
Pecking can do it too, but it's nothing to worry about unless it's bleeding.
