Hi, all.
I have a 4 year old Barred Rock hen with a foot injury.
Yesterday she looked & acted normal; today she's limping.
I managed to catch her (she's not a fan of being loved on) and check out her right foot.

The entire foot is swollen. There is a small open wound in the center of the foot pad.
I cleansed it thoroughly with saline wound-wash spray, then coated the area with Neosporin triple antibiotic ointment.

We've been deluged for three days, so the chicken pen is muddy even though I've put fresh hay down.
(The flock has constant access to a warm/dry area with plenty of fresh hay so I know she hasn't been standing in mud for three days.)
Anyway, I've segregated her in a smaller coop with clean hay.
I added a bit of Nutri-drench to her water supply, plus a touch of ACV since she likes that & of course she has food available.

No clue what happened to her foot, but it looks like a puncture wound. Sorry, no pics as she's a little hell-cat & I only have two hands.
I didn't see any pus, nor drainage. The foot does look a bit pink but didn't feel particularly warm to the touch.

I have 500mg Amoxicillin capsules available. Should I utilize that somehow?
I've read too, that aspirin might be ok to give her but I'm unsure of what dosage or route to use.

Any advice from the resident experts? It'd be greatly appreciated!
I'm really worried about her.
