treats for 10 day old chicks?

At that age mine loved oatmeal, bread soaked in milk, and I also made a mash with their feed and milk. Their all time favorite was scrambled egg...... I justified it by telling myself that if the egg wasn't fertilized than it wasn't going to be a chick anyway so it was okay

Now that they are a couple of months old they like raisins, corn on the cob-fun to watch them peck at it; keeps them busy, and they still love the scrambled eggs!! Like the others said don't forget the chick grit!!

Well, Let me tell ya....Mine are 6 days old and It's my first time so I'm doing everything that everybody is saying here and they are doing just fine. Last night a fly got in my house so I go hunting for it and would you know.... it flys right into the chicks box....man...I heard all kinds of sounds and little feet runnin' and boy did they have a blast running after the sister that had that fly in their mouth. Soon as that chick swallowed that fly there was silence in the box......Out I go with my fly swat to hunt down flys for my ladies...... I use to hunt deer with my bow but let me tell you this is more fun!!

Plain Yogurt, Scrambled Eggs, Boiled Eggs w/ the shell off. Just make sure they have grit.

You can just use sand if you don't have any.

If you want to see a chick rugbe game throw a small (1-2 inches)worm in there. Mine are now 4 weeks old and I like to give them Cheerios.They love them. I hold one between my fingers and let them pick at it.

My bigger ones go crazy, and my younger ones are starting to too.

Just try differnt stuff. I gave mine some watermelon the otherday. It look like a piranha feeding frenzy.They also like peaches. Some stuff they just turn up thier beaks at.

Well they lived on the yolk in the egg so why would that be wrong if the egg is not an embryo.. It is just an egg. Calves drink milk....
Remember even a fertilized egg is not a chick embryo until it is placed in the incubator or under a broody hen and heat is applied. Eggs are great for chicks - scrambled or hardboiled is best so they don't want to eat their raw eggs when they lay them.

As for treats - yogurt with chick crumbles on top is always a fav

10 days is kind of young for treats I would wait another week at least. You want them eating their chick feed and not filling up on "junk" food. Just kidding - chickens are natural foragers anyway. They love almost everything - except mine will not eat broccoli
