Treats ok Every Day?

There's a good reason why most of my chicken's snacks are carb heavy. Other than corn and peas, they have steadfastly refused all vegetables.
I believe this is because my flock free ranges all day and by doing so, they find plenty of greens on their own. Chickens are very good at regulating their dietary intake to meet their nutritional needs. Their veggie and most of their protein needs are met between the layer feed and their free ranging, so they look to me for their carbs. They have never met a fruit they didn't like.

My chickens will hurt you for a piece of cheese. I don't give them milk, although I once gave them some buttermilk, but they get cheese and yogurt regularly. Good sources of protein and calcium.
ETA: In fact, we buy a quart or two of plain yogurt a week. It's split between the dog, the cats, and the chickens. Keeps the gut flora healthy.
