Anyone out there tree climbers? I love tree climbing, and I have really only one tree that I climb. Anybody else want to share tree climbing tips?

When I was a kid we had a 60ft sycamore tree out back. I loved to climb it. I hadn't thought about that in a long time. Thanks :)

Wow 60 feet!? I can only get about 15 feet up in mine, there is this annoying gap...

Tip: If you have rope, use it. rope is the most valuable thing... ever. I love it. I use it up instantly.

Hi Cheryl,
I don't know if you're climbing with a rope or saddle or not, but it's an option. Our organization and school, Tree Climbers International, teaches how to do that, and you can also hook up with others through our Climber Finder and our Forums. Check out treeclimbing.com to find out more.
Onwards and upwards!

I like to climb some of the trees around the house. There is a big walnut and hickory tree in the front yard but I can't climb it because there is no branches low enough for me to grab on to. I would love to climb them though!!

what if you took a rope and tossed it over the lowest branch and tie a loop in it, then tie the other end to something else. hopefully, you would be able to put your foot in the loop and pull yourself up.

For gaps, look for small branches that stick out and furrows or small ledges you can use to grip & shimmy up. I have a gap in my tree and theres this short kinda branch in the middle of it & a lot of little spaces where twigs are trying to grow, and i can use it to pull myself up. Ive gotten all the way up to the swaying part!
