Tree tapping

I know right?! I only heard about tapping walnuts a few years ago! At the time, I live in ohio and we only had a few black walnut trees and they were only 12 foot or so tall. We just recently moved to Missouri. The new property has walnut trees that are 20 plus feet!! I have never seen walnut trees that big until we moved!

Our farm was in Madison County. Which is in the east plateau of the Ozark Mountain range. Hickory trees and Walnut trees were scattered all over the farm. Squirrels bury nuts, right?

My tree taps are coming tomorrow! Will probably tap on Monday if everything go's as planned.

I don't have any buckets so ya, I'm using Mason jars.

That may work for a couple days but I'd do something different in a bit. I would be worried about them freezing and breaking, especially with rain coming later this week.

I was thinking about that , i have frozen liquid in these Mason jars in the freezer before with no problem, but I am not sure what I would do for the rain..
