Okay...the calculator isn't hard. Try this:

Go to the main calculator page.

There is a box that says "Quick Reference for Phenotypes & Genotypes". Click the box and find the type of both your male & female. There are pictures of all types. Write down the "code" for each color. It's typically four letters. For instance Penguin is "Bb Rr". A Bourbon Red is "bb rr". Write down the color code for each bird.

Now go to the calculator.

At the top of the page there is a box for male & one for female. There is a series of pull down boxes. Little grey boxes with little arrows.

So for Penguin. ...you would go to the Grey box that shows "B's"....hit the arrow and find the "Bb" line & tap the circle. That's only half of his Genotype. You the go to the R box and find the Rr line & tap that circle. The Penguins picture will pop up and you go do the same for the female.

After you enter her code letters, hit calculate.

Okay...assuming this makes sense...try it.

Fiesty. ..can those little guys puff any bigger! Too cute. :D

Aurora, he's a big boy. What is that sitting on top of the brooder? I couldn't tell, but it sort of looked like a ROASTING PAN! No wonder he's freaked out.

Remember I plucked Daisy out of rush hour traffic & Annie was running wild in a field. Neither of them seemed to have much experience with people. I spent a lot of time (hours) just sitting in their pen in a chair working on my laptop. Casually handing them treats. We all had to get used to each other. Now of course they are lap turkeys. Guess it was a matter of developing trust. Or something like that. I was scared the first time I let them out to free range. But they just hung with me. Now all I need to do is call them & they will come back to the coop. They are good girls. :)

I'm no expert, but that's what worked for me.
