We've had two cold & rainy days here. This is my coonie. Stayed cuddled up in his blankie!

Well Fred...I went out to put the girls to bed last night & Blossom was standing on her bbq grill. Iris & Marigold hopped down & headed for the coop. Daisy was already in the coop. But Blossom just stood there trilling. Spent a good 15 minutes petting & hugging her. After 2 days of sloppy cold weather I guess she just needed some extra attention. Earlier in the day Marigold let me pick her up & give her hugs. I'm used to Daisy being sweet & wanting attention and now these two have gotten to that point too. All three of these girls were older when I got them & have become fun pets & lappers! The one I raised Iris, is still a goofball! Its interesting that all the more mature girls, including Annie, have really bonded after not being raised particularly close to humans. That's now four mature hens who, given the time, have become good pets. I think it says something for our turkey temperaments. And I enjoy the process.

Romeo is a jewel! So was JJ. A good tom is worth having. If I could be guaranteed a Romeo or JJ I would consider a guy in the convent. I'd have to name him Pope!

Trees are starting to bud out here in Austin. Its nice down here. Fun group to work with too. That always helps!

Sitter said the girls are good. Apparently Iris flew on top of the coop & it took her 20 minutes to get her down. Sitter not happy with Skinny Iris. Daisy came over to her for a snood scratch. She loves Daisy, and Daisy likes her. Blossom & Marigold are leery of her....but they do what she wants.

Hound is being boarded. I can't trust anyone with him. Hes such a climber & escapist. And so strong, hard to walk for anyone but me. He's vocal when he wants something....most people don't care for the paint being peeled off their walls. And I love it when he talks! He has a beautiful voice... loud....quite the song he sings. Hes not particularly vocal....only when he wants something. The Aussies are alarm barkers. He's not. And doesn't start barking if the Aussies do.

Back home tomorrow. Missing my girls.
