R2elk....this hound is NOT food motivated. Go figure. However, he loves an egg over easy and a cooked salmon skin. When I get my pan out he gets excited & screams until he gets his treat! In the mornings I've had him lead me to the stove & start barking. Obviously he's in the mood for an egg. He will, on occasion, mess with me until I get up & make him an egg. Not every morning, but he'll do it if he hasn't had one in awhile. He's clever.

Where is everybody?

It's been 2 weeks....I need to go to the grocery. Never my favorite thing...but now it's a bit scary.

Rained all day yesterday. Hung out with the girls a bit. Kept them in their coop. They are bored birds. They are used to ranging, but it was so nasty I made them stay in the coop. Boy did I hear about it! Especially from Blossom. She's a talker. Marigold, the hoss, is just a sweetie & kept rubbing her head on my leg until I started petting her. Then she stood there with her eyes closed. All the girls are twinkies! Hanging out with them makes my lock down much more enjoyable! Nothing like a hen hug to cheer me up!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Bright & sunny. One problem....my turkeys are TRAITORS!!
Ran out into the backyard. Daisy was preening on the back porch rail. But Blossom, Marigold and Iris were GONE! Started calling for them. One of the guys next door yelled that they were in their yard. So Daisy & I headed over there to retrieve them. I about died....4 guys sitting in a row on a trailer with turkeys in their laps! Well...Blossom & Marigold were in laps, Iris was wedged between two of the guys. The boys had just got back from TURKEY HUNTING! One of them has parents in a rural area here. They got two birds & left them with his mom. Two of the guys live next door, but the other two had not met the girls. They were blown away. Could believe how sweet they are. My neighbor was laughing saying they've ruined hunting for their two friends. And he wants to take Blossom with him when hunting because she's so vocal. Said he'd just sit under a tree with her on a leash. He was kidding....that's not legal. I was pleased when I called them they hopped down & followed Daisy & I back to our yard. They are good girls....just nosy!!
