Since it was warming & sunny I got a chance to chill out in the yard with Annie on my lap, asleep, for an hour! Daisy was in the dust spa. Usually Daisy is such a pest that Annie hops down after about ten minutes. It does amaze me how much turkeys want attention.

I'm putting off agility training with Daisy for awhile. She's hit that hard molt stage. I'm waiting till she gets through it...she's a bit futtsy right now. I'm sure all those feathers coming in is annoying.

Aurora, I agree, your hatch rate is amazing! So when are you setting the next batch, or have you.....all I remember is your going to end up with seventy something poults. Are you selling them at under a week old? I was talking to a guy here who keeps them for two weeks before they go to their new homes. He seemed to think since they are delicate he wanted them to be a little more hardy prior to going to new homes.

What about your creamers....have you set some of those too??

Ralphie....I read about Coffee with that little guy down her shirt. Yep....she's already spoiling them! Love it!

I'm much more attached to my turkeys than my chickens. Ya kind of hope for the best for them! And I think those two guys ended up with a great home! Way cool.....

Feisty....I have bird withdrawal all the time. I spend a little time with them before work & hurry home to see them in the evening.

Daisy has a big bald spot between her shoulders! I may get the molting picture of my dreams after all!

OK Dheltzel....your not off the hook! Take pictures of those baby poults! Your holding out on us! Would love to see pics of your mottled turkeys. Ralph posted several of his toms on Porters genetic Facebook page and he identified some of the more unusual colors. He might be able to confirm if it's a silver dappled mottled.
