Cheers! I'm drinking beer tonight. Been a long week for me! Working on a crazy project at work. Turkey/chicken time is huge stress relief for me!

MM...is that an aussie in your video?

Ralphie...glad you found decent peaches!

Speaking of chases....Annie, the Bourbon Red, has decided she enjoys chasing one of my Australorps. Just one in particular. Louise. Louise isn't happy about this. Doesn't pay attention to any other chicken. Doesn't do it all the time either. Just every so often. Can't imagine Louise did anything to provoke her. She doesn't act like she wants to hurt her. Not sure what she's doing. Meanwhile Daisy just sits in my lap watching the action. Boy has she got me trained!

Holm nice flock. I like the pond too.

So this morning I was enjoying a cup of coffee in the yard with the flock. Daisy was in my lap. One of the neighbors wandered in and reached over to pet Daisy & she hissed at her. I've never heard that noise before. What was that about? She sat down across from me on the bench & the other turkey hopped up to stare at her. She was drinking a cup of coffee and I know Annie thought she'd share! The chickens were fascinated with the shiny beads on her sandals. Needless to say she didn't stay long! Guess I have pesty fowl!

Mymilliefleur - my hens aren't sitting but they are still laying like crazy!

Feisty - I bet baby turkey gobbles are adorable! I missed all the fun of having babies!

Poor Annie, the Bourbon Red...I was mowing & set the gas can down in their yard. First time she's seen it. Took her a half an hour to quit chirping about it! My chickens thought she lost her mind! Daisy just plods along behind me & the mower. She figured out its good bug hunting.

It's getting toward the end of the growing season so I've started to let the turkeys explore my gardens. They had quite the adventure!

MM - thought I recognized an aussie! I'm an AKC judge...he has a nice top line!

Ralphie - I think my bearded hen is darling! Drink a few more smoothies & I bet you will too! Can't wait to see how long her beard gets!

Loss of daylight is killing me! Barely getting home in time for lap time with Daisy before her bedtime. It's a routine now. She hops in my lap at dusk. She's so laid back. I can scratch her belly, under her wings, even pull open wing out. She could care less. She's a funny bird!

Feisty...I'm dreading the end of daylight savings.

Daisy is a twinkie. Who knew when I caught her in rush hour traffic! I feel so lucky. I think we bonded because after I caught her I would just sit in her pen. I didn't want her mingling with my chickens, she was in isolation at first for obvious reasons. So it was just her & me for awhile before i got her Annie as a roommate. And Annie was running wild in a field when I got her and she's a hoot too! Her owner died & her daughter called me out of desperation trying to find her a home. She thought she was a jake because of the beard.
