Trichomoniasis

There is a very bad outbreak of trichomoniasis in the finch population in our region. Apparently it can spread to other birds. Wondering if my hens would be a risk? I don't have bird feeders or bird baths on my property but I have seen finches around...should I be concerned? Are there any precautions I should take to protect my girls?

If you free range it may be harder to keep them "protected", transmission of Trichomoniasis is through bird to bird contact or by contact with infected litter, poop, feed or water.
Keep wild birds out of the run and coop, keep water stations cleaned.
