Trimming Beaks

I recently bought two chickens who had their upper beaks trimmed. Compared to the other chickens, it seems they are not as healthy and possibly because of the trimmed beaks...? Will their beaks ever grow back?

Usually this is seen in spent layers from a commercial operation, and no, probably not. They may have lived a very crowded life and not really been getting enough to eat. Hopefully with some space and sunshine and free choice feed, they will improve. It might be a good idea to worm them with some Valbazen or Safeguard and check for lice and mites as well.
