Hey he is not a bad looking boy, he looks a bit like a blue breasted red..Guess you dont have a rumpless hen for him??

The tuft gene is the bad one. If you breed tuft to tuft you will see more dead during incubation.

The good rumpless gene per~say is not deadly, however there is a thing called roach back, but i beleive this is a deformity rather than a bad gene. Others may have a different idea of that..research research....

I wouldnt worry about it unless you get a whole flock and start to breed then it will be fun, but by then you will have done all the reseach you can before getting into it to deep..Rumpless=no coccyx bone=born tail~less....

you can get this book which will explain everything in great detail for the beginner of this breed..Its really is a good book for anybody that has an interest in the araucana breed..
