Hey he is not a bad looking boy, he looks a bit like a blue breasted red..Guess you dont have a rumpless hen for him??
The tuft gene is the bad one. If you breed tuft to tuft you will see more dead during incubation.
The good rumpless gene per~say is not deadly, however there is a thing called roach back, but i beleive this is a deformity rather than a bad gene. Others may have a different idea of that..research research....
