I get a few double yolk eggs. I even got one triple yolker. My question is a friend at work said her neighbor buys double yolk eggs by the dozen. Said all the man sold is double yolk eggs, Is there a breed of chicken that only lays double yolk eggs? or lays them more often than most.

um....I have seen a few threads on here with people talking about double yolkers and hearing of someone that has a special feed or they breed them to get double yolkers. I dont really know. I dont really think there is a feed or special breed of them IMO.

I got double yolks from my Red Stars and Barred Rocks pretty regularly when they first started laying. About every other one for a several weeks. Not nearly as often now. I guess they got the machinery running properly after some practice.

I have a friend with hen houses. They lay the fertile eggs that become broilers. With the thousands of eggs collected each day they have a number of double yolks. He sells them by the dozen.[IMG]
