i am very new to the site but have so many questions forgive my terminology for i am new to to my feathered friends also ... i am having a little bit of problems with incubating my guinea eggs ... when it comes time for the eggs to hatch they seem to not make it out of the egg ,,,, i cracked one open after waiting 3 days after the due date and the chick had formed but was dead :( I'm sure i followed text book but don't know where i went wrong ... hoping someone can help a newbie

This is my first year to incubate also, and I have been having problems too! You might check the other threads to see some of the answers I got - check out the thread: "It's Official" in the last day or two. PeepsCA has been doing this a long time and is very helpful.

i checked the threads and i guess the name of the game is waiting i have 6 new babies that all pecked thier own way out i had 1 to die in the egg but think if i had helped it mite have made it .... how long should one wait b4 they help out on the whole hatching process ... i have 50 more eggs waiting to hatch at diffrent times but they all r looking good im a mommie :)

I know it's hard to not help a struggling keet... but usually if a keet can't hatch on it's own there is a reason, and the keet will have issues like leg or toe problems, maybe something genetic or neurological. And if you help a keet hatch, rehab it thru it's issues, raise it, then add it to your flock you could be passing on the issues to all of it's hatches, weakening your flock... or someone else's flock if you sell the keet.

ty and i know your rite i have read so many links and threads ... its just realy hard and tears my heart out knowing something has grown and cant get out ugh :( im prolly in the wrong kinda thing
