Trouble raising meal worms

hhahah. No you are not. I went to grocery, not for me but for the worms !

Yes on the baking. I spent yesterday baking 2 batches in my 3 glass dishes (13x9, 8x8,11x8 all in one batch). Did 300 Degrees for about 1/2 hr and left in oven to cool down.

Then I got 3 buckets with lids, 5 gal, from Market basket and got the rest in there (not baked).
Those went in the shed for now. I am still trying to hide these from my daughter... who thought I was doing some weird baking stuff all day.

My boyfriend wants me to clean out a closet shelf so he doesn't have to look at them on the bar counter anymore, I wonder if I would need to let them out for little light every day? I know they rather have dark but??? When I baked my bran he also thought I was crazy! He said my birds and worms are taking up my chore time...blah blah blah...He's the one who let me buy them!

My daughter did not know I was doing this for mealworms. She would sh$t and run away if she knew I had them upstairs !
What they don't know....

how will you enjoy watching and listening to them eat if they are in the closet ???

I know! Then I fear of the out of site out of mind theory! At least I have to see them a lot thru out the day, so I go picking thru a lot. But if he realllllly doesn't want them hanging out I must abide by his wishes. After all he pays the bills, lol! He likes my Quails noises but always calls them doves...go figure. He once tried to tell me that this cute little bird drinking water at the pool was a black cardinal! Hello there is no such thing (I think!?) and we are in California!

I don't believe so. I saw my first one when I went to Martha's Vineyard and it was so stunning! I will have to get out my bird book and check.

We have them all over MA, but to be honest they are not as plentiful as they used to be. OR they like one town better then another

More Blue jays around here then anything else. Very Pretty but very Obnoxious birds

Just looked it up and No red Cardinals in CA too bad, they are pretty

I agree they were stunning! I was so excited to see them. We have jays here to and they are obnoxious too...but pretty. I love the hummingbirds.

I have never seen one here at my house but I know they are around on the other side of my town. I live next to the Air Force base so I wonder if that makes a difference ?

Maybe? I have one I call mermaid she gets so close to me when I sit outside. My back yard is crazy with all kinds of things and I'm in town! My dogs love the red tree squirrels that jump all over the place. I couldnt believe when one actually fell! It bounced back lol!
