Excellent !! Raising the un-used roost even a little made it more desirable I think. Consistent with their natural preference for the taller roost. Hope it works out well

Can I ask what the current result is? Is it still working? I have a similar situation with a roost bar at same height as the other not being used.

Make sure the unused roost bar is :
* not in a draft
* not in a bad position (too close to wall, too dark to see)
* not too high for them to get up or off (landing zone)
These things can matter to the birds! But, as a general rule, they have favorite spots and so will squabble or all cram onto one bar if able.
