Trouble, the gay rooster

My 7 months old rooster used to refuse any "come on" from the girls - even when they squatted for him. Now he's a bit of a superstar (if you know what i mean) so maybe he's just a bit too young - combined with the other roosters maybe putting him off

I have had a lot of chickens over the last seven years. (some are Silkies and I would love more!)

They are in a closed coop at night, but free range off the property during the day. I live in a jungle in Costa Rica so losses due to predators are high. I let some of my chickens go broody and have fairly frequent new chicks, half of which turn out to be roosters. There is a local man who comes and takes away the extra roosters. The last time he came, I caught seven roosters and put them into one closed coop. awaiting the young man's arrival. The roosters escaped before the man could take them away. When he returned a few nights later, we could only identify and catch four roosters. That left three. None of them crowed yet, but one was quite large. It is a fat orange iridescent one. No downward tail feathers yet and the legs not as long as some roosters. The next morning I caught him crowing. I do not see him acting rooster-ish at all! and yesterday he was clucking like a hen! The other two roosters are avoiding me! Once caught, twice shy?

Oh yes and I have two black hens Who may or may not be gay, but they co-parent every time. They sit and hatch together and share the chicks. In some of the earlier hatches some chicks were lost when there was fighting between the two hens.
