Thats just terrible... It take less then a second to cull a chick .. Why would they think it was ok to suffocate them... i am very glad they are being prosecuted....

I can't believe how many chicks they have in that one tub in the picture...they don't even have room to move!

Ours is no where near that full. How are they technically supposed to dispose of the ones that really are dead, though?

When I worked in a petstore any animal that passed was put into a plastic bag, labeled/dated and either refrigerated or frozen and a veterinary disposal company came and picked them up as needed. If they were still alive or suffering or cause of death was suspisous then they were taken to a vet imidiatley no mater how small they were.

We have a Attwoods farm supply store here and that is how they dispose of their chicks, when they come from the hatchery's some are dead in the box, they just pull them out and in the trash they go.

All I can do is shake my head. How horrible for those poor babies.

And the fact that some of the "dead" chicks weren't! Ugh!
