Nope, he didn't. He's always looked a lot like a welsummer roo. :3

My Buckeye is way shiner than that. His black feathers are glossy as obsidian, his mahogany feathers are as deeply colored as his namesake, and gleams like jasper.

Ah. That one looks a lot like my Leghorn cockerel so that’s why I was wondering. Brown leghorns and wellys are the same color pattern.

Hnm. Shiny enough for the pullets, but the rooster... hmm. Nah. Mahogany feathers are much shinier. You beat the pullets but the roosters cannot be beat.
