OK this is seriously starting to tick me off, WHO HACKED MY ACCOUNT.

Well I just said I was gonna pop just under 30 in the bator Monday. We need profit somewhere until the rangers are ready. It costs about 1.75 to produce a dozen eggs, maybe two dollars to run the bator so costs maybe $4 to hatch a dozen eggs, if I can sell for $5 or $6 each (higher for the crests.) then I covered cost of hatching and there's some profit, the rangers are eating ALOT of food, if I can sell about 16+ ducklings every couple weeks or so I should be able to just about cover feed. There are people looking for ducks, they walk into tractor supply or the local feed stores and ask "are you getting in ducks this year?" And the only answer I've heard is no.

I wish we could hatch eggs to help with feed costs but alas, the only Bator's we have are the chickens

So sad. My ducks go through a 50lb bag every 3 to 4 weeks, they don't cost much to maintain, just $12.50 every month The rangers however, they get pricy, times that by 4 just for one week.

I KNOW RIGHT?!! From cackle hatchery to,so they should be decent quality sadthing is,the pictures they had of their eggs were even darker than the FRENCH BCMs

And the summers were significantly cheaper, so mom settled for them I love welsummers

If you've fot a duck and drake or two ducks she'll lay eggs that size. Duck eggs are huge, I get a compression to a store egg tomorrow, my duck egg yolks are about 3 times as big as the store chicken eggs. Big Mama, well she's laid 90+ gram eggs.
Lol. Nice. I had three attempted broodies so far this year, big Mama, Lady Elaine, Pekin, and my Swede. Lady Elaine co sat with Big Mama last year. I expect Big Mama will try another brood later in the year.
