Troyergals Chat Thread!!!

It takes me exactly 29 minutes on a good day to get every single animal/inside/cooking/life chore done each morning- IF I'm on turbo.
Not-so-turbo= Eh, 35-38 minutes.

Haha, as long as I stay out of the babies coop I should be fine XD

What breeds do you have/recommend? I really like the looks of Cayugas, and I would love Blue Swedish, Runners are cool too. Do you suggest mixing and matching beds or getting all one breed so I could breed purebred ducks? Will drakes mate with chickens, and roosters mate south ducks?

I would miss home too. I do bet you get to see some cool places though. Lol, I didn't know if ypou were, because you always sound so responsible. We are rattling on about random crazy stuff, and here comes Dan,posting pictures of a chicken coop he is building and, making me feel very lazy compared to him. :lau

I currently have Pekins, Blue Swedes, a Mallard Drake, a Mallard X Pekin cross duck (ought to start laying in July or August.) and Pekin Swede cross drakes. Honestly I really love my pekins (can't believe I'm saying that) They lay really well, almost as well as runners, they're good foragers, they are my friendliest ducks and they grow fast. My Swede lays well too but is much smaller and shy. I had a Cayuga and I really like her for the six months I had her (darn fox :somad) I would like to get more one day. Runners are fun, we used to have one, I would've liked to have gotten those too. Despite what you may think my pekins are probably my toughest ducks and are very good at avoiding predators, I have not lost one to a predator as of right now. Personally I do like darker birds.

That's up to you, I have mine all mixed together and never know what I'll get, some times I'll get some Swedes sometimes I won't, sometimes it's 90% crosses and 10% Swedes other times it's 100% Pekins. I like waiting and seeing. My crosses are quite interesting. They shouldn't, I never had a problem with that, some times they will if it's a lone drake.

Lol. :gig

All very helpful....I just don't know. I'll probably end up going with one of each breed and throw in a random drake and just have mixed breeds...Now to start my list with a $150 budget. I definitely like darker birds. I like the characteristics of Pekins, but plain white...Then again, I'll probably get one. Lol

:lau you have lots of critters :P

Night dudes :frow

Yep, about 300.

I like to mozy and take my time doing chores so I take about the same amount of time. :P

Same here! Stop and talk to the cows. Play with the chicks. Lollygag in the tree farm and take pictures of the butterflies and lilacs. Hold the chickens. So yeah, they get fed, I just spend time with them. And then my mom yells out the door ''Savannah! What the heck are you still doing out there, it is way past breakfast, get your *** inside!''
