I love them. Then again I grew up eating them since there are about three trees in the backyard.

I've had a fig bar, and I like those. I've never had a piece of fig. I could see how you would like them do much.

Are they easy to grow, and do they produce quickly?

Yeah.

As long as you're not up north they should grow just fine! Very hardy and very little care required, just keep them watered. They do, they produce fruit on last years growth so as soon as a year after you plant it you can get fruit.
