True Khaki Campbells -NY

I sure wish you would have read Dave Holderread's book better. On page 41 chapter 5 on lightweight breeds it reads. "Egg - bred Campbells are the best layers of all recognized duck breeds, and in many enviorments are the most proficient egg producers of all avian species. Campbells lay eggs with superior texture and flavor and usually with pearly white shells. However , an occasional bird of authentic bloodlines will lay eggs with blue or green shells." Taken from Dave Hollderreads book "Storeys guide to raising ducks"
I sure wish you read the caption in our website photo. That picture is of pure deep keeled Rouens that hatched at the same time our Khaki's were hatched, in our incubators made in 1910. Again on this topic , defer to page 37 chapter 5. In one season she DID use a Mallard.
Again , I sure wish you read the book by Dave Holderread. When I stated about size , it was because any "Khaki over a 6lbs is not a Khaki " There are of course many other ways to tell true Campbells , but I suggest you read the whole book first.

I do not know your uninformed intent was, but we take our flock seriously. Maybe you should do the same before questioning anyone with extensive knowledge on the breed. The fact you posed yourself as new to the breed and I offered you help confuses me. Do you even have ducks ?
Either way , what you tried to do here was rude. I wish you the best and if you do have birds , please read any book you get from front to back for the welfare of your birds.
To everyone else,
I am sorry if I seemed rude.

If I miss quoted the Holderreads in any way I apologize. They are great people who really know what they write about. I raised high quality chickens for years for fun and to keep my three sons wholesome. It worked!!!! I came across Dave's book and was hooked. My children each raise a breed of one animal or another and it's their "lemonade stand". Also , I used Kathy Leiningers name and she is a doll. Everyone knows how shipping is on hatching eggs , we had a great hatch rate. When she put up Khaki eggs on eggbid we just kept buying more.
Again I apologize for the previous postings.

Gotta go tuck the birdies in.
Thanks
Chris:)
