What husband heard: “did you check EVERYWHERE BUT in the corner under the boxes behind that little wooden platform?”

His answer was yes, but clearly it should have been no! Bahaha!

I have six RIRs that take it as a challenge to find new and better hiding places for their eggs. They even hid a nest under a piece of corrugated sheet metal that had one edge about 8" off the ground. They also liked going into the very back corner of an unused doghouse which had a doorway that is a couple of inches narrower than I am.
