truly wild pictures!!

Fish is the mainstay of a bald eagles diet but they will also prey on ducks. If given the opportunity they will prey on poultry,

This was in my yard today, I posted the pics on another thread but they fit the theme of this one too. Does anyone know what variety it is? I live in eastern Oklahoma.

He's the biggest one I've ever seen! That's how I know he's the same one that's been hanging around because of his huge size. The others are much smaller. He is awfully pretty though. Despite the fact that he wants to eat my pets.

It could be a Rough-legged Hawk. They are down from the North this time of year. I believe some make it to Missouri. They are kinda like the Brahma of the hawk world--feathery legs (but not toes)--it's hard to tell from the photo, but the legs could be feathered. The tail looks a little red though.

I'd personally be inclined to think it's a Red-tailed Hawk from the looks of the tail. If that's the case, it's a SHE as the females are usually noticeably larger than the males in most raptors.
