My little giant has notoroiusly not kept uniform temp. Soooo..... I am doing an experiment. I filled some zipper bags 1/3 full of water with the air let out and lined to entire bottom of the bator with them. Then I covered them with a clean kitchen towel then covered the entire thing with an old jacket. So far it is holding it's temps great and when I candled I had almost 100% development when before it would only be maybe 60-75%! I guess in 15 days I will know how it worked for sure!

Are your bottom air vents blocked? You can cut pieces of plastic drinking straw, slit them longways, (so they'll roll up small enough to fit in the holes) and poke them through the holes past the plastic bags and stuff, and as long as the bottom of the straw is pushed in flush with the bottom of the 'bator, you should still get pretty good air flow. The embryos need plenty of oxygen.

The water in the bags will help hold the temps, because water takes quite a while to change temperature. A lot longer than air. Great idea!

Okay, i'll be honest there was more than one reason for the jacket over it. I left it in the barn to store over the winter and the chickens had apparently found the loft where it was at and they ate holes in the sides of it. Not too many, but I don't believe that air flow through it isn't a problem at all. I am keeping an eye on the humidity and that was a good idea about the straw. I may do that if this doesn't work.
