Hey I am new at raising chickens but I was really wanting to buy a silky and some EEs but I don't know if you can even ship chicks but I live right near savannah Georgia

Hatcheries can ship chicks to you. If you only want a few try mypetchicken.com (Love the chicks from here. My first brood of sexlinks were awesome) and search for their minimum for your area. They have silkies. If you want a bunch other hatcheries have minimums of 15-25 but some charge you a lot extra if you want smaller shipment than that. Some hatcheries are Cackle Hatchery, Meyer Hatchery, McMurray Hatchery, Purely Poultry (I like this place too. They answer questions even if you don't buy.), chickensforbackyards.com (has a low minimum), efowl.com, and Randall Burkey to name a few.

Hope this helps.

If you want a lot of eggs I wouldn't get silkies.

They are not very good layers from what I have read but they are very good pets. EE'ers on the other hand lay fairly well. My standard one laid about 4-5 a week of medium sized eggs.
