Thank you so much! I was a horse crazy kid and always dreamed of getting me a 14.2HH gelding (color not important), around 7 years old (because he would be old enough to have matured past the crazy colt stage, but young enough to still have lots of get-up-and-go). Well, it was not to be back then but when I was invited to go on this trail ride, and at the end of the ride told that the horse was available for sale, I liked him so much I decided "Heck, its not too late" and I went ahead and got him. But I feel like I still have so much to learn and conformation is one of those things I know so little about, that its nice to know I "lucked out". I am super pleased with him so far - he is so well trained and responsive that he is forgiving of a relative newbie like me but is always eager to go. I also like his personality - I NEVER worry that he is going to try to nip or kick while I'm working around him. Doing up the cinch, putting on the bridle, picking out his feet - its all good as far as he's concerned. I've seen his ears go back at another horse but never a person. And, as I'm around him so much now (2-3 times a week for the past few months), we've gotten to know each other far better than I've ever known another horse. He now nickers when he sees me coming and I can tell subtle differences in his mood in a way I've never been able to do with another horse. Saturday when I rode him he was so relaxed I barely held pressure on the reins. Yesterday he was edgier and I kept closer contact with his mouth, but towards the end of the ride had relaxed again. In the past I rode so infrequently, and usually on different horses, so I was never able to pick up when they were feeling relaxed or on edge, so it feels really good to get to know this guy.
