You are getting it all wrong. You do not need a farm maid, you just have to train your husband right.

If I had to wait for my husband to do anything.......my oh my....nothing would get done. I love my husband to death...but i take care of it all, then I know it is done right.

I'd say give it your best....work hard at it and just keep going on. IT will get done, and you'll be so happy that it is. Never never never wait for a man to do anything..... We are strong ladies..........

I do deep litter also. What I do is open the door, spread out a tarp in front, remove the board I have that holds in the shavings and just kinda 'push' everything out on the tarp. At some point I have to get out the shovel, but I've pitchforked it so it's fluffy and I use a big snow shovel. THen I can just drag the tarp away and pile it where it needs to go. I haven't done my big coop yet - waiting until more snow is gone. Did the two smaller ones yesterday and have lots of ready made compost!

Do those horse pellets at TSC work well for poultry. Don't the chix & Ducks eat the pellets??
