Trying to figure out breeds and sex

The problem with the barred gene is that it is incredibly dominant. I crossed golden colored hens with Barred Rock (also barred Wyandotte, barred Orpingtons) and all the offspring were barred. The barred one could just end up being a cross breed. I would say barred rock, but it is far too messy. I would say Cuckoo Marans, but those are pretty large birds (like very large) and he is pretty narrow

Here is the difference between the three;

Barred Rock

Cuckoo Marans (look like hatchery Barred Plymouth Rocks)

Cuckoo Malines (Very huge Barred Rocks)

The black and copper one looks like a bsl to me.

Yes, Black sex link chicken - male black sex links will be barred and look sorta like a Barred rock

By messy, I (as a once Barred Rock breeder) am saying the birds coloring is not true barring. When hatcheries sell barred rocks they tend to throw the original patterns of the birds plumage out the door and just focus and high laying rate.
