Trying to figure out what kind of duck this is... Ideas?

Get him a few hen ducks. If he thinks he is a chicken he will probably try to ... consecrate his chicken relationships.
Good on ya for giving the little guy refuge! Get him a couple Ancona females ... he looks a lot like one.

A friend of mine is giving me a pair of recently hatched muscovys to run with him, but I have been looking into getting a couple friends for him to hang out with that seem closer to his age/size. How are Anconas to raise?

I love mine. Two eggs a day for weeks now - from each. They are great little foragers, too. The patterns are so neat, and they are gorgeous in the yard.
They do a pretty funny Indian Runner impersonation from time to time, too.

It looks like it is a mutt. It looks to have Blue Swedish in it. Judging by it's tail, I would say it is a hen. Although that reallydepends on the age. Listen to its quack, if it is loud then it is a girl. If it is more raspy, it is a boy. Glad you rescued it. I'm sure you will enjoy him/her.
