trying to train ducks... LOL

We tried the water spraying thing to try and calm our two male runners down, one thing I will say about it from personal experience is that it works for a few days but then he'll probably decide he likes it. The mist will have an effect for a little bit but the stream is better, however even on the stream they decided after a couple of days that they loved to drink the water that I squirted out at them

That's not to say it won't work, but just from my experience of it, it didn't have a lasting effect... Might as well give it a go though

I also wouldn't recommend throwing anything at him, even if they are just little stones. Could you maybe fence off this plant or move it out of his reach or is that not possible?

By the way, we got 4 females in the end and hope that'll have a better effect on them

When my runner duck quacks WAY too loud just because she wants me to come outside, I tell her if she does it one more time she's going into time out (her big cage). Then if she does it again, I put her in the cage. Works like a charm! (for like 2 hours.) But it's better than nothing!
I've tried squirt guns too. That works too.

My goofy ducks try to eat the stream of water when I'm filling their pool or water bowl. They look like a bunch of dogs, biting at it and watching it in the water, diving after it, etc.

I would just fence the plant, I have a little tree I have to do the same thing with. And the garden, some little thief reached over the raised bed and plucked a couple of pumpkin plants. They left a nice little hole where they jammed their face too so it wasn't hard to figure out

Mine just found my strawberry bed and they chowed down every plant. Little trouble makers. I can't be mad at them. I should have fenced it off. Live and learn. I use the sharp stream setting on my water nozzle to get them. I always aim for their butts and boy can they run.

We use a spray bottle since our ducks hate being sprayed. When they do something they are not supposed to, like scream for no reason or pick at things they shouldn't be pecking at, we give them a spray.

We'll also tap their beaks and tell them "no _______" fill in the blank with a scary loud voice. That also seems to help.
