Hi everyone!
I picked up 6 assorted bantams from TS this morning. I'm sure of two of the breeds I purchased, but this little one has me confused.

I assume a Cochin of some variety, but not doing well with surprises, I can't wait until they feather out .

if it is a d'Uccle it might be a brown red d'Uccle that TSC may have ordered from Ideal Poultry. It looks more like a Cochin though due to its rounder appearance, maybe Gold laced Cochin. It might just have a fuzzy face.

I agree it’s most likely a d’Uccle. I ordered hatchery stock d’Uccle chicks that are now four weeks old and one of my Mille fluers was a lot rounder then the other miles and golden neck chicks, she did indeed turn out to be a d’Uccle though. She looks indentical to my others in shape. However keep in mind she got the chick from tractor supply so these are hatchery birds who may or may not meet all breed standards.
I’ve never seen a muffed Cochin so if it’s a Cochin I’m hoping it’s just a little “fluffier” then normal.

Edit:: however update In several days, duccles get amazing “boots” that are easy to identify over a Cochins little “slippers” lol I just wanna know what this chick is.

There are recognized and not recognized varieties of Duccle. So getting a variety not recognized and therefore less known isn’t impossible.

Ideal sales both recognized and the not recognized varieties. Though I thought TSC got their chicks from Murray, though I suppose I could be wrong.

Maybe the poster can get us a better picture of the chicks face? Cochins don’t have muffs. It looks like this chick does. But it could just be how the poster is holding the chick.

Very true. :)

Only thing is, the d'Uccle varieties Ideal offers don't appear to match up with OP's munchkin (chick down color). Our local TSCs are supplied by Townline. :D

Agreed, another picture would be very helpful if possible.
