So, I called Privett to see if they might have supplied TSC, and they confirmed they have not sent chicks to them since 2017. TSC has looked at the box and said they definitely have been getting babies from Hoover. Hoover doesn't sell bantam EEs, I suppose that makes the chipmunk an OEGB? They also do not sell rosecomb chicks, which makes my light gray baby from last week an OEGB as well.

Did they ask you which TSC? Another poster stated that their TSC gets chicks from Privett on some weeks, and some weeks Hoover. Someone on here got a Golden laced Cochin from TSC last year and they told her they order from Hoover but Hoover doesn’t carry Golden laced Cochins. The chipmunk chick doesn’t look like it has a single comb, it should be an Easter Egger. If it didn’t come from Privett maybe another hatchery?

The buds on the side of the beak are nostrils.

I find it hard to tell from peacomb or rosecomb. I usually tell the breed by process of elimination based on colour. For example there are no laced birds with peacombs supplied by hatcheries (a few EE may have lacing or barred feathers but they are pretty rare). So if the chick has lacing I assume it is a Rosecombed breed such as sebright or Wyandotte

Yes, Privett asked and looked it up by zip code. Told me they definitely haven't shipped any chicks to that location since 2017. Also, the TSC lady went to look at the box to verify it was Hoover.

Correction, Cornish are often laced but their stocky bodies are easy to distinguish

That is odd. There was an instance I read of someone who ordered from Ideal and got a shipment from Meyer instead. Sometimes I wonder if hatcheries will do things like that when they are short on supply. Or maybe Hoover has EE and rosecombs but aren’t listed.
