TSC Ducklings

I have Cayugas, Pekins and Swedish Blacks. They definitely look like Cayugas to me! Cayugas are the most beautiful ducklings. When they grow up their black sheen shows colors of green and purple in the sun.

I notice the TSC people always have their duck breeds wrong - at least my store does.


Edit: The duckling in my avatar is a Swedish Black - it was sold to me as a Swedish Blue, but I believe she is actually a Swedish Black. Now she is a beautiful black and white duck.

The one in the back definitely looks like a runner and most likely even the one in front

Up until the 4-pack was a few weeks old, Niles & Doc looked almost identical and I thought both were Khaki Campbells. Turns out Niles is a KC and Doc is a Runner.

Here they are at a few days (Niles & Doc were the same color in normal lighting)



Here they are at a few weeks when it really started to become obvious Doc was NOT a KC (Doc on left & Niles on the right)



And here they are at around 7 weeks (Doc far left & Niles in the back)



Mose, who is a Cayuga, has always been black.

The 4-pack also came from TSC where the woman, who claimed to be "knowin about these here ducks" said to me "alls we ever get is mullards, peekins and cakey campers. I aint never knowed us to get any furrin ducks from Sweden or any running ducks-they all come from Amurica"

I suspect she wasn't "knowin" as much as she thought

Actually I felt like an idiot....it took me the entire drive home to realize she was telling me the ducks were not 'foreign'!

these are my babies from TSC, when I first got them I thought they were cayugas, but now at 4-5 weeks old they are very brown not black. this thread has me wondering if they are indeed cayugas or khaki campbells?? Help please

those would be khaki Campbells. Cayugas are black
