Have no idea. Kid at tsc has no idea. I just thought it looked different than my others.

Sprayed purple?! Sounds to me like they were sprayed with blue kote... which you use to keep other chickens from pecking a wound, and treat infection. Sounds like there was an injury...
but I would agree, probably hatchery quality buff orpington cockerel.
