I was almost sure they would be sold out of everything but RIRs and Red Sex Links (I already bought 5 RSLS on a previous trip). Thought I was safe to go in and buy some food, I thought wrong!

Today they had new assorted bantams that arrived yesterday, White Leghorns and Black Sex Links.

Well I have been needing more white egg layers, so I just had to get 3 White Leghorns and I have never had BSLs, so I definitely had to have 3 of those. Then I saw 3 bantams that I didn't get in my first 21 and felt sorry for the marked down older Bantams so took one of those home also.

[IMG] That brings my grand total of chicks right now (including the 4 that hatched this past weekend) to 99!!!! What the heck am I thinking?!?!?!

I can't keep them all, but I will pick out lots of favorites and find good homes for the rest. I am sure many of the bantams will turn out to be roos, which I can't keep.

The bad part of them running out is they always mark them down BEFORE they run out!!! [IMG]

Sooo true!! That little bantam I got for $1 today is probably a roo that I will have to resell, but I felt sorry for it lol.

DH just called and I kind of giggled and said I didn't get too many chicks today. He says Oh yeah, you went to TSC. He asked how many I got and I explained the breeds and why I chose them. He just laughed at me and moved on to another subject lol. Whew!

I still wish TSC had got a better assortment of standard pullets in. They only got the major egg layers. I lost both of my Silver Laced Cochin chicks from Ideal and I hate to place another whole order to get them replaced.

You guys are lucky. In my town TSC only orders chicks one month out of the year and on the days the shipments come in, they usually order a couple hundred, all will be gone in an hour.

Eeeek! They still have hundreds in there! I already have 5 brooders going lol

The Black Sex Links my TSC had were supposedly pullets, but they had no white at all on the backs of their heads, so I should be safe [IMG]

I have 11 Blue Ameraucana eggs and 27 Black/Blue Swedish duck eggs and 1 Partridge egg in my incubator...I think I will be over 100 soon enough lol
