TSC/Hoover's

First time raising chickens - I ordered 10 Black Australorp Baby Chicks straight run from TSC/Hoover's - received 11 on 4/24 - one died - they looked pretty similar when they arrived

4 weeks later - 2 look like barred rock - the gray one and 3 look like the white headed ones - Ancona ? - are they Black Australorps ?

The other 5 are mostly black and look like normal Black Australorp at 4 weeks - I don't have good pictures of them

Hoover's says non-returnable - can you suggest what my options are ?

Hi! you don't have all australorps for sure, They look to be barred rocks and Silver laced Wyandotte. We will need more pictures to tell for sure. Unless you have a specific reason for wanting lorps then i would keep them all but let hoovers know they messed up big time.

Definitely a barred rock cockerel there. Not sure on the white headed ones. I don't think they are Wyandotte as the comb is wrong type.

My Australorps had white heads for a while too Sweet ladies

Yes at nearly 6 weeks and with more feathers there are 3 Black Australorp hens and 5 Black Australorp roosters - the white heads are disappearing

The boss Australorp rooster is showing his hackles and out competing the larger Barred Rock rooster
