TSC minimum purchase

if you JUST bought some from THEM it is very unreasonable. i know our feed stores wont sell ONE...but i did get them to bend the rules for me cuz i had just hatched and they were same age and i promised and they were great about it. i do NOT like TS. i boght chics there ONCE. they would not let me get even close to the chics to "choose". since they werent sexed i wanted to choose myself. once i got to manager he relented and let me NEAR it and he grabbed the ones i wanted. but i dont like their policy of selling same day they get them! let them settle for goodness sake esp the bantams!!! they did not look well. no one else will sell same day....plus the water was full of shavings so they had none..no one was paying attention to them. i do NOT LIKE THEM. not for chicks anyway.
Last year I complained because the wyandottes has two dead chicks in their brooder

Most states have a 'minimum sales number' on chicks and ducklings. It is not a decision on the part of the store.
Most states do not regulate a minimum sales number on chicks and ducklings. One person has posted in a previous thread about this issue that Tennessee does have a statute but at this time it is the only state that I know of that has such a regulation.

This is a TSC decision to have this rule.

Hmm the man on the CS line kicked it back to the state but maybe that was just to try and justify it

I am still going to call the ag department in Texas and ask that they consider allowing smaller purchases for people who can show that they have other same age chicks

All this over a Policy over silly little chicks:confused:
With all due respect, those poor people over at TSC making minimum wage and living from paycheck to paycheck, are in the middle of disgruntle because they are only following policy and doing what they get paid very "weakly" to do.. they do what they are told to stay employed.
It is SPRING TIME. My local craigslist has pages and pages of chicks and chickens listed. Our local newspaper classified ads are packed with chicks for sale. We have at least 25 mom & pop feed related stores in our particular county and their community bulletin boards are packed with homemade fliers with chicks for sale. And you're singling out 1 source in particular who has a policy that you refuse to except.
Again, with all due respect, please reconsider making those poor employees go thru anymore Hell than the misery they are already going thru working for min wage in a dead end job.
I hope you find peace and happiness someday.
Best regards.

I don’t think anyone in this thread has berated any employee at tractor supply. We are expressing opinions over a store policy. I hope you can find peace, happiness and learn to read all the comments before jumping to a half cocked conclusion about something you clearly didn’t take the time to even skim over.

I also would like to add that I do not “refuse to accept” their policy. They are an independent company and have the right to operate as they choose. That doesn’t mean that someone cannot express a differing opinion on said policy or offer constructive feedback to the company. The manager was nothing but kind to me and I never blamed any employee for the store policy.

I read the entire thread as always. Now you are attacking me. Have a nice day.. Sorry about your anger.

Our TS is brand new and super clean. Ours seems to be pretty decent. Not sure how knowledgeable the workers actually were. But any specific birds I asked for were boxed up no problem. They actually showed them to me to make sure they were the ones I had asked for. I think however I will be buying older pullets from our nearby Amish.
