That’s a good idea except when I look on my state thread every post is YEARS old! I wish it could be updated somehow or have a new post started.

craigslist has numerous ads this time of year in your local area.
No shipping fees or shipping stress on the birds.
PLUS, you get to hand pick the ones you desire.
Feed stores have community cork boards with ads from local farmers as well.

Some local co-ops might still have chicks too. I got a few locally on Friday.

You may want to look into other feed stores. Around here Family Farm and Home has a nice selection. Tractor Supply tends to sell mislabeled chicks when it comes to both breed and sex. Got six pullets from them this year, and three are roosters. The Barred Rocks were Black Asians and the Orpingtons were New Hampshires.
