TSC Orpington?

What problems were they having? Didn't her anything about it.
Well they have these heating plates in the brooders (which heating plates are usually great). But they have WAY to many chicks in there and the chicks cannot get warm enough. They have started putting thermometers in there where the chicks are all huddles up trying to stay warm and they are only around 93 F. But the employees aren't allowed to switch anything up to keep them warm. So they have just tons and tons of chicks dying and suffering in these things when the easy fix would be to just keep using brooder tubs with a heat lamp.

Not to mention they are trampling and suffocating each other while pilled up under the plate

Thats horrible. In my store, I haven't seen one of the towers filled up. Usually the top two tiers are full, then a couple empty then the next two full.

Oh good. Yeah my local one barely uses them either. Most stores and employees obviously have the sense to see its not right but aren't allowed by the company to fix or change anything. Its really to bad:(

Yeah at my TCS almost all of the chicks have poop on their butts. Some have so much it looks like it covers their vents. I would be surprised if they’ve lost dozens of chicks just because of them not being able to poop. So sad. Do you know what would cause that?

Oh no!! So sad! I think any number of things can cause pasty butt. And the sad part is, its an easy fix (usually). Just wipe off the poop. I would imagine all the stress from cold and overcrowded conditions causes them to have diarrhea and such which sticks to the bum.

Previous yrs, I would see the TSC employees tending to the chicks. They would see one with pasty but, and take it into the back and clean it up. Seen that many times.
Seems like a higher up thought a brooder would do all of that on its own.
