Tube feeding chick - quick feed question - Answered

I use Nature's Best Organic Chick Starter/Grower.
I brought my 5 wk old chick to the vet yesterday and they gave me a syringe/tube and told me to water down the feed into a gruel and tube feed.
However, the starter is still very gritty and I have a hard time getting it up the tube. I tried adding more liquid, but wondering if I am just giving her watered down nutrition?

Is it possible this starter is too gritty? Should I get another feed, or should I just feed the water that rises to the top, as I did last night?

Ok, I'm back to answer my own question, lol...
I ran out to do a quick errand and in that time the feed sat on the counter and became mushier. I was able to syringe it more easily.
