So I've discovered that my rooster, who normally will crow before it even gets light outside, has an off switch! If I put him into his basket nest and tuck him into bed with a towel in a dark space, then he will sleep until I get him up without making a peep. He won't crow at all until I take him out of his nest.

The reason I'm posting is to know if this works with anyone else's tame roosters? Please try it and let me know how it went!
Let me know how tame your rooster is.
How you've tucked them into bed.
Where they sleep.
And how late you keep them in bed!

Haha, such a cute little bundle! I have a rooster who is an outdoor one, a silkie. He crows at dawn, but it's a non-issue for us. I like your little basket bed though. Our rooster is a silkie who sleeps alone on the coop floor, but he tries to sleep in the nesting boxes. We keep taking about creating a sleep box for him (don't want his poo on the eggs), but now will consider a basket. Our girls are standard and roost high, leaving him with no one to snuggle with.

My rooster sleeps with me everymorning . From when my husband gets up to work at 6 until 8-9 a clock . He doesn’t even go poop . He is such a good little chicken . He will crow at 6 but that’s my waking up call to go get him . But once I put him back , that his mating time with the hens and he crows for hours
