:welcome

Hi, it's nice to have you here! Pork Pie has given you a link to the state threads...go say hello and see what they recommend!
Will do!
Some don't like Craigslist but I got 2 great SLW back in November. The lady buys chicks in the spring and raises them up until fall and sells them then. Mine were 16 weeks. She had them in a large shed with some roosters. I didn't see how many. Probably 20 birds in there. With several waterers and feed stations. They were bright eyed and very active. I took 2. They have been very nice birds added to my BO and ISAB. Good luck finding a pal or two for Goldie.

$10 each
I’ve started to look, and have heard good things about the Wyandotte. What is an ISAB? Do they get along well with your Orpington?

Sorry. ISABrown. ISA stands for the organization that started the breed in France if I remember correctly. Yes mine gets along fine with my BO. They were raised together. Both good ( productive) layers. 65-70 gram eggs. Brown. Laid all winter. I fed 20% protein with scratch and mealworms. Mealworms around 52% protein, and scratch to help keep them warm. I have 2 SLW. ( Silver Laced Wyandotte) and they laid all winter. Started about 20 weeks. They lay a smaller light brown egg mostly daily all winter. Egg weighs between 56-65 grams. SLW are a large sized hen in comparison to the BO and ISABrown. ISA Brown is smallest of my 4 but she is the top of the pecking order. IDK
