Well, a little cup as water, and a long bowl like thing as a feeder. She wasn't on wire for a while now, just tissue. I noticed my males one has a scab.. Will it go away?
PS. Your female is gorgeous![]()
Okay
, I was wondering if the feeder or water was scraping the group in the same way (if it's not a virus). My hardware cloth turned abrasive from her pacing it during most egg times, wondering if your caging may have the same effect. If it is an abscess, they can be contagious to the group if they were touching the same spot the first affected girl did with a wound to get the infection in? Hypothetically, if hers is an infection and she rubbed it against the wire and the others paced against the wire too, they could get it I'm guessing :O
Maybe contact some big quail farms and/or wherever you would send a suspected sick bird to be dissected the pics/story for their opinion, they may have experience with it?
P.S. Thanks for the compliment about my quail hehe she had also chipped the tip of her beak in that picture too - a wild woman of the aviary
